Procedure
The procedure to remove FVP should be performed following this order:
- Remove all VMs, Datastores, and Flash Devices from configured Flash Clusters.
- Uninstall the Management Server.
- Uninstall the Host Extension from all ESXi hosts.
Before removing PernixData FVP, it’s interesting to look at the Flash Cluster Summary in order to see the FVP statistics taken during the test time. Access the Flash Cluster and select the Summary tab.
When the license expires, the VMs assigned to FVP are shown as not accelerated.
Accessing the Flash Cluster Summary, the message confirms the license has expired.
Remove Flash Cluster
First step to perform concerns the Flash Cluster removal. From the FVP Cluster management panel, select Manage tab and click on Datastores/VMs. Select VMs or datastores to remove acceleration then click Remove.
Click OK to confirm removal.
VMs have been removed from the cluster successfully.
Now move to Flash Devices tab and remove Flash Devices from the cluster.
Click OK to confirm removal.
Flash Devices have been removed from the cluster.
When Datastores/VMs and Flash Devices have been removed, the Flash Cluster can be removed as well. Select the cluster to delete then click the delete X button.
Click OK to proceed with cluster deletion.
The cluster has been removed successfully.
Remove Management Server
Login the vCenter Server and got to Start > Control Panel > Uninstall a Program. Select item PernixData FVP Management Server and click Uninstall.
Click Yes to confirm the removal.

Remove UI Plugin Server
From the client, go to Start > Control Panel > Uninstall a Program and select PernixData FVP Plugin for vSphere Client and click Uninstall.
Remove Host Extension
To remove PernixData Host Extension from each ESXi, host must be in Maintenance Mode and accessible via SSH.
Using a tool like PuTTY, SSH into the host and uninstall the Host Extension using the PernixData script. From the command line type and execute the following command:
# cp /opt/pernixdata/bin/prnxuninstall.sh /tmp/ && /tmp/prnxuninstall.sh
When the Host Extension has been removed, reboot the ESXi host.
Once rebooted, exit Maintenance Mode.
The removal procedure is now complete and PernixData FVP is no longer installed in the system. Repeat same steps for each host with FVP installed.
