Runecast released Runecast Analyzer 1.7.5, the proactive issue prevention solution for VMware vSphere introduces the full support for the recently released VMware vSphere 6.7.
In addition to vSphere 6.7 support, the new release comes with some new capabilities as reported in the Release Notes:
- Applying filter to parents will now auto-select child objects as well
- Enhanced security for SSL Server Authentication
- Applying "Ignore" button on Inventory view will auto-select the related object
Upgrade to Runecast Analyzer 1.7.5
Since version 1.7.3, the upgrade process of the application has been simplified and now the appliance can be quickly updated with no need to reboot when the KB definitions are updated.
To update the software, open your favorite browser and access the Runecast appliance by typing the address https://IP_appliance:5480 then enter the admin credentials (default rcadmin/admin). Click Login.
Go to Update > Status tab and click Check Updates button. When the new appliance version is detected, click Install Updates button to proceed with the upgrade. The update is available to users with an active subscription.
Click Yes in the confirmation window to proceed with the update. The update is being installed.
After few seconds, the appliance has upgraded successfully to latest version.
You can perform also an offline update downloading the .ISO file and the Knowledge Base definitions from the customer portal.
Add the vCenter Server 6.7
To add the new vCenter Server 6.7 to Runecast Analyzer, the procedure is still the same. From the Dashboard, access the Setting page by clicking the Settings icon then click Add vCenter button to specify the new vCenter to analyze.
Enter the vCenter Server FQDN or IP Address and the correct credentials to access. Click Save.
When the vCenter has been connected to Runecast Analyzer, click the Analyze Now button specifying the vCenter Server to analyze from the list if multiple vCenter Servers are configured in the application. After few seconds the detected issues on the new vCenter Server 6.7 are displayed in the Dashboard.
You can also display detected issues and suggestions from Runecast directly in the vCenter Server by installing the Runecast Analyzer vCenter Server plugin.
