Vembu released the new Vembu BDRSuite v7.0.1 providing new features with an eye on security enforcing the backup protection against ransomware attacks.

Vembu BDRSuite v7.0.1 new features
The new version is mainly focused on the security aspect introducing the immutability support for object storage and Linux storage.
Immutable Object Storage
Immutability is a technology that protects backups from deletion, modification, and overwriting providing a strong defense line against ransomware attacks.
Backups stored on supported immutable cloud object storage platforms such as S3 or S3 compatible remain untouchable until the immutability retention expires ensuring better security and a secure restore.
BDRSuite v7.0.1 provides also the immutability feature for Linux storage to keep backups unaltered when stored on on-prem storage devices adding an extra layer of security.
KVM full VM recovery
After introducing the KVM support in BDRSuite v7.0.0, the new version extend this capability providing the recovery support for entire virtual machines running on KVM hypervisors.
This feature allows a quick VMs recovery especially in a disaster recovery scenarios where RTO is essential to limit the service disruption enhancing the business continuity.
File Level Recovery for KVM, Azure VM and AWS EC2
It is now possible to granular restore files and folders from VMs across KVM, Azure VM, and AWS EC2 environments.
Specific files can be easily retrieved without restoring the entire VM first speeding up the overall process ensuring minimal downtime in case of data loss.
Enhancements in BDRSuite v7.0.1
