The new Nakivo Backup and Replication v11.1 has just been released offering powerful new features mainly focused to protect VMware, Proxmox platforms, and physical machines.
A major improvement in v11.1 is the expanded set of functions available for the Proxmox environment, allowing to fully protect your workloads.
What's new in Nakivo Backup and Replication v11.1
Support for VMware vSphere 9.0
VMware vSphere 9.0 and vCenter Server 9.0 are fully supported, starting with Nakivo v11.0.4.
Proxmox VE enhancements
Proxmox protection has been enhanced with new and powerful capabilities.
- Proxmox 9 is fully supported but the machine type must be 9.2+pve1 or lower.
- VMs can now be replicated to remote sites with Network Mapping, Re-IP and Retention capabilities.
- With version 11.1, it is now possible to reduce the RTO by leveraging the Flash VM Boot capability. This allows you to boot VMs directly from the backup repository without waiting for the restore operation to complete.
- Backups can be verified with screenshots of test-recovered VMs and reports to ensure backup integrity and recovery readiness.
- Proxmox VMs can be directly restored from tape without intermediate staging.
- Proxmox VE templates backup is now supported.
- Automatic transaction logs truncate is now available after a successful backup of Exchange or SQL Servers.
Real-Time Replication
To reduce RPO to a near zero downtime, VMs can be replicated leveraging the Real-Time Replication feature.
To use Real-Time Replication it is required the installation of the I/O filter service on the VMware vSphere cluster.
Granular backup for Physical Machines
Backup of specific folders or volumes on physical machines is now supported as well as the recover of files, folders to custom locations.
Data Domain immutability
Nakivo Backup and Replication v11.1 now supports Dell EMC Data Domain immutability.
Interface localization
Improved localization for French, German, Italian, Polish, and Chinese (simplified) languages.
